FAQ

Ordering & Eligibility

Do you limit how many units a customer can buy?

To ensure fair access during launch, order limits are in place while we evaluate demand and production capacity.

Who can order from your site?

You must be 18+ (or meet your local statutory age to possess the device) and comply with all federal, state and local laws governing firearm parts in your jurisdiction.

Product & Function

Do I have to modify the trigger to install the SplitFire RS™ ?

No. The SplitFire RS™  is designed as a drop-in safety replacement for compatible AR-platform receivers — no permanent modification to the trigger is required. For safety and warranty reasons we do not provide step-by-step gunsmithing instructions online; if you’re unsure, have a qualified gunsmith install it.

Does the SplitFire RS™  make a firearm fully automatic?

No. The SplitFire RS™ is designed to operate within semi-automatic firing—each shot still requires a discrete firing event. However, legal definitions and agency interpretations of “automatic” vs. devices that increase rate-of-fire have been the subject of recent regulatory and court activity.

How does it work (high level)?

The SplitFire RS™ temporarily changes the selector state as part of the rifle’s cycling so the rifle can reliably continue firing round-by-round in rapid succession. This means in a 30-round mag dump, the safety will be turned on and off 30 times in a matter of a few seconds. For best results it is recommended to use an H3 buffer weight .

Compatibility & Fitment

What platforms/calibers does the SplitFire RS™  support?

Current tested platforms: AR-15 including .223/5.56/.300 BLK.
Compatibility is continually expanding. For the most current information and demonstrations, please visit our YouTube channel.
We are working on additional variants to expand the reach of responsible, fun shooting!

Will it work with my trigger, receiver, or BCG?

Compatibility depends on specific trigger bar geometry, receiver shelf height, BCG profile, and buffer system; check your exact parts before purchase. If your build is non-standard, you may need to consult a qualified gunsmith to determine compatibility.

Legality & Compliance (Important)

Is the SplitFire RS™  legal?

Unless you live in a communist state - then yes! Most pro 2A states allow our Rapid Safety™. We will not ship to jurisdictions where the product is prohibited. As the current ATF guidelines read, a forced reset device is allowed. One of the great things about our Rapid Safety™ is that the trigger is not altered whatsoever from the standard trigger. This means the tail and semi-auto sear catch remains and functions on every trigger pull. Only the 2- position stock safety is swapped for a 3-position SplitFire™ Rapid Safety™. This leaves the trigger completely unmodified from what is legally sold.

The legal status of devices that alter/reset the trigger has been in flux and differs by jurisdiction. Federal and state interpretations and litigation have evolved recently; courts and agencies have reached different conclusions about some forced-reset or rapid-reset devices. Because this area of law can change, G2G Tactical™:

  • Does not give legal advice; you must determine whether possession/use is lawful where you live.
  • Will refuse to ship to jurisdictions where the product is prohibited.
  • Recommends contacting your local ATF field office or an attorney if you are uncertain about the legal status in your area.

(Short version: the landscape is evolving — please confirm before buying or transporting the product.)

Warranty, Returns & Replacements

What if my lever or part breaks?

Take photos, include your order number, and submit a Replacement Ticket via Support. If failure is due to a manufacturing defect, we’ll replace the part at our expense.

Troubleshooting (common issues)

My bolt is binding / my rifle isn’t cycling consistently — what now?

Common causes: incompatible trigger geometry, high-shelf receiver, non-full-profile BCG, or buffer/gas tuning. Check our Compatibility Matrix, then run a dry-function check with the upper off and consult a qualified gunsmith if needed.

My selector doesn’t sit flush — is that normal?

Yes — due to receiver and parts tolerances, some selectors sit slightly proud. It does not necessarily indicate a problem.
